Gremsy Pixy LR GTune Guide

Required Setup

Requires a Windows machine. GTuneDesktop does not have builds for Mac or Linux

  1. Download our GTune Profile from here

  1. On a Windows machine, download GTuneDesktop

Download this ZIP, extract it, and run the exe.
  1. GTuneDesktop should be downloaded on your system

A funny note about GTuneDesktop is that you should only run it after you plug into the gimbal or it will not autodetect.

  1. Plug microusb into gimbal. Port is near the top area. If it is an old version, you will need to take apart the gimbal to do this

  1. Launch GTuneDesktop and have it autodetect the gimbal. If it shows "Pixy LR", the detection is correct. If it doesn't autodetect successfully, try using a different microusb. Some microusbs don't transmit data

It will search for your device
It found the device. Hit "Connect"

Go to "Profiles" and click "Import"

Click "Profiles"
Click "Import"

You may want to delete existing profiles before doing this to avoid clutter

  1. Browse the GTune Profile downloaded above and click "Open"

  1. Select the Profile and click "Load"

  2. That is all you need to do. Test the gimbal to make sure everything is working good.

Advanced Setup

This is not necessary but may make the gimbal feel better to use. There should be very little variation between individual gimbals which have the same lens and stuff like that. If you change lens, you probably need to do this since weight and balance will differ

  1. Calibrate the IMU

We plan on Auto Tuning the gimbal, but first we must calibrate the IMU. Go to "Settings", "IMU" and hit "Calibrate"

Make sure your drone is on a flat surface before doing this

  1. Autotune the gimbal

The gimbal moves during this step automatically so make sure no wires are in the way and the drone is on a flat surface

Go to "Stiffness" and hit "Auto Tune"

If you get this warning, reboot the drone because the IMU calibration turned off the motor:

Reboot the drone
Click "Ok" and wait for gimbal to finish tuning

Click "Write Param" after the autotune if the params look good, and test the gimbal movement out. If it's good, you can always export the profile in the "PROFILES" tab if desired.
